Favorable climate and fertile land for the development of the agricultural sector.

Mykolaiv agricultural land is more than 2 million hectares and is famous for fertile black soil.

Agricultural enterprises specialize on cultivation of grain and technical crops. In recent years, the harvest of grain and legumes has reached almost 3.0 million tons. Mykolaiv region is among the top three grape harvesting leaders in Ukraine. Several regions on the south of the region are part of the so-called "tomato belt" - half of the gross harvest of vegetables are tomatoes.

Region has significant potential for the development of meat, dairy farming, pig and poultry.

Mykolaiv region is an export-oriented region, in terms of export of goods, it occupies 6 to 7 places among the regions of Ukraine. The agricultural complex, processing industry and transit potential determine the specialization of the region for the trade of grain crops, alumina and oilseeds.
More than 350 subjects of foreign economic activity carry out trade with partners from 130 countries of the world, which is confirmation of favorable investment climate of the region.

American Bunge and PepsiCo, British ED & F Man Limited, French Groupe Lactalis, Chinese Cofco Agri, German Dyckerhoff AG and others are successfully implementing investment projects in the marine complex, processing industry, food products and construction materials.

 

Diversified economy and considerable industrial potential.

The economic potential of the region is due to the diversified industry, developed agriculture and marine complexes.

The main budget-creating branch of the economy - industry - provides a third of budget revenues and accounts for almost a quarter of the gross regional product.

The industrial complex of the Mykolaiv region includes engineering, shipbuilding, energy, metallurgy, food and light industry enterprises.

The geographical location at the entrance to the internal waterways of the country and the ramified transport system (rail, sea, river, aviation, road transport) and the modern marine complex determine the significant transport potential of the region.

For processing about 40 million tons of cargo per year are able three sea, one river ports, sea terminals.

“Delta Pilot” branch of “Ukrainian sea ports authority” provides services on pilotage in regulation of marine traffic in sea and river ports of Ukraine.

Large-scale investment projects are being implemented in the region: the revival of river navigation and restoration of the work of the international airport "Mykolaiv".

 

The rich historical and architectural heritage and natural and reserve fund for the development of tourism and recreation.

On the territory of the region there are 141 objects of nature reserve fund with the total area of more than 75 thousand hectares, including the National natural parks “Bugsky Gard” and “Beloberezh’e Svyatoslava”, Regional landscape parks “Priingul’sky” and “Granite-steppe lands of Buh”, historical and archaeological reserve "Olvia".

Mykolaiv region is a true treasure of touristic resources of the Northern Black Sea region.

It is more than 170 km of sea and sand beaches of the Black Sea resorts, the canyons of the Southern Bug and its tributaries, geological reserves of healing mud - over 2 million cubic meters - Tiligul and Beykush estuaries, shady alleys of nature reserve parks, etc.

 

Favorable investment climate.

Local authorities provide support for investment development and measures are taken to improve the investment climate of the region.

SME Development Program in Mykolaiv region for 2017-2018 is being implemented, approved by the decision of the Mykolaiv Regional Council No. 22 dated December 22, 2016. The program is aimed at creating favorable conditions for doing business, opening new jobs, attracting loans, supporting the innovative sphere of entrepreneurship development.

In 2017, an allocation of 2 million UAH is planned from the regional budget. for partial compensation of interest rates on loans granted for implementation of projects to small and medium enterprises.
